I missed out a lot of post i shold do on the site.. been bz.. so heres what going on so far in the tech world :

Apparently Apple is releasing 2GB and 4GB Ipod Shuffles between June - August. This would totally kick off mini ipod off the shelves as the shuffle would consume less battery power and more lightweighted. The only reason i could see people are stickign with the mini is because of the LCD display which the shuffle doesnt have. However i wouldnt be suprised if apple decided to put a LCD on their next shuffle. Imagine 4GB of songs, how the heck u gonna find a particular song with a 4gb shuffle ? haha ..

Also there had been news that Apple is trying to work something out with Intel in order to make a better performance chip. However its very unlikely that anything is going to happend since reconstructing their operating system to adapt Intel's chip at the moment wouldnt be a wise move for Apple at this moment of time.

The Gameboy Micro that was been annouced will be available in stores by this fall. The news had it that the Gameboy Micro will be supporting video and audio playback. Storage would be by SD card or CF depending on which 3rd party adapter you use. I wonder if it would support native divx avi format? hmmm .. would be interesting to see.

PSP Firmware 1.5x has bene said would be able to run homebrew software soon. Its just a matter of weeks before the team 'Dynarox' wouldf successfully find a way to let people boot PSP ISOz off the memory stick. This has been a pleasent news among the PSP hacks community. Even for me ^_^

XBOX 360 will be availble on the shelves during this fall and the price range of the unit would be around $300 USD. We will expecting to see lots of XBOX in homes right now as XBOX not just acts as a gaming machine, it also acts as a media centre for the entire house. I hope they would stick to the $300 price in Malaysia as well. Maybe i'll get one ^_^

Google Personalized Page that has slashdot has been banned from using slashdot rss feeds. It appears that slashdot woudlnt want anyone to get their news without visiting their original website. It was really funny if you can find the screenshot that slahsdot is saying someting like "You are not allowed to syndicate us" or something like that on the iGoogle page. Haha !

Since google started its google maps which has been very usefull to the community, Microsoft now has started their own map service and satlite imagery on their website. It seems like Micorsoft fear Google would be a threat to them right now. Its good to have competition ;) Mirosoft maps service and satilite imagery apparently is called MS Virtual World. It looks more detailed than google's but its still early to tell which is better.

PalmOne is now going to revert back to its original company name Palm Inc. which had made a 30M settlement with PalmSource. Theres not going to be any more PalmOne and the original Palm brand would be back. I just cant wait to have Palm brand engraved on my next Treo ;)

A huge bug has been found on Mirosoft Internet Explorer which causes computer to freeze and in some cases would cause a BSOD and restart the computer. The bug apparently is a flaw in the image tag on the HTML code that causes the whole computer not to respond on such a large value of the tag interpretation. Click Here to Test the Vulnability on your computer. In my opinion, this has been the worst exploit ever in the year 2006 ! i now officialy afraid of URLs ! Fix this Microsoft !

Mirosoft is also annouce that they will be launching Windows Media Player 11 in early 2006. By then we would hope as well that they would have alreayd release Internet Explorer 7 to the people since the market of internet explorer has significatly decrease and people are switing to firefox. I hope IE7 would come out soon enuff before everyone defects to Firefox.

Apple's new h.264 video compression technology which looks much better than DivX and stays looking better at lower bit rates is now playable in Windows. Although originally intended as a Quicktime 7 (not yet released for Windows) technology, h.264 can be played in Windows using a program called VLC media player. Im hoping to see more video downloads to be encoded in h.264 and will be fully compatible with windows. Ive seen the comparison quality and it does make a difference in quality.

DVD Standards between Toshiba and Sony has not reached an agreement yet though some new site has reported that its not about which is better, its about the battle of egotism between the two companies. The fact that both companies want their format to stay they are still unable to reach a proper agreement for the upcoming DVD standards. Oh weylll ...

Thats it for this week. Keep on checking for the latest update .. ^_^
