Bangkok police have arrested one man and seized hundreds of dinosaur fossils after the man started selling them on the Internet auction site eBay. The arrest came after a joint operation between Thai and US customs officials.

If found guilty, 25-year-old businessman Piriya Watchajitpan faces a US$18,500 fine and up to 7 years in prison. He will be charged with hiding and possessing antiques for trade. He had shipped the fossils all over the world.

US customs official Mark Robinson told reporters in Bangkok that “We have been investigating this one for about eight months." The fossils were discovered in northeast Thailand in 1976 and are priceless.
